General information
Vavilov Memorial is conceived as a special annual event dedicated to the memory of the outstanding scholar and teacher, Professor Nikolai Vavilov who suddenly passed away on September 14, 2023. Apart from purely mathematical talks, we welcome lectures on mathematics education, computer science, philosophy, and other topics reflecting his wide range of interests. Accordingly, the conference has a mixed format including not only specialized talks but also longer lectures suitable for a wide audience. The mathematical part is focused on recent achievements in linear algebraic and Chevalley groups, and in related areas such as finite group theory, Lie algebras, representation theory, asymptotic group theory, word maps, model theory, Kac-Moody groups and algebras, central simple algebras, K-theory, and so on.
Already during the preparation of this conference, we lost Eugene Plotkin, one of the main organizers of this series of memorial conferences dedicated to Nikolai Vavilov.
We plan three working days, each day containing plenary talks and lectures of invited speakers.
